It is needless to say that Android dominates most of the smartphone market all around the world. Android has been the most popular OS ever since its release and Google ensures that it remains at top with the continuous updates to it. Blackberry’s First Android Device

Rumors started to surface in early July that Blackberry will be releasing a high end sliding smartphone, which will feature Android as its operating system. The device was codenamed to be “Venic”. It will be the first Android device by Blackberry, and the first of Blackberry to ever release without its own OS. Moreover, leaked images and information suggest that it will be one of the few Android phones, which come with a QWERTY keypad, and even rarer Sliding feature.

The Blackberry Venic is rumored to have a 5.4 Inches Quad HD screen. Interestingly, the images clearly suggest that the phone will feature a curved display. This will surely make it worthy to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. However, there is no solid proof except the images, which have surfaced online.

Hardware and Software

The cellphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 808 chipset and Hexa core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. The phone will operate on the 64-bit architecture, and will supposedly run on the latest Android Lollipop, which will let it utilize the full capabilities of its hardware. The phone will also feature 3 GB of RAM for multi-tasking between applications, and running applications without any lags. The amount of internal storage offered or whether there is any expandable memory is still not made clear.

A 13 megapixel rear-facing camera and 5 megapixel front-facing camera is also rumored to be packed in the Blackberry Venic. Seeing the capabilities of all the blackberry cameras up until now, it is safe to say that the camera will be able to provide decent quality, and capture fine details in the pictures.

Expected Full Support& Pure Android

With the specifications mentioned, it is obvious that Blackberry wants its first Android featuring phone to be a great one. They will probably make it one of their high-end cellphone, and offer full support for it. Despite all the rumors surfacing online, it is still unclear whether Blackberry will tweak the OS, just like every other firm. It will be highly unlikely for the company to go with pure android experience, but with the popularity of near-pure android experience, it will be quite a good strategy for the company to go with pure android.

The phone is expected to get Blackberry back into the competition, and compete with the already Android dominators like Samsung. Due to this, the phone is expected to be packed with high-end features, which can provide a premium experience to the user.
