The Motorola Droid Maxx 2 was released in the month of October in 2015, along with Motorola Droid Turbo 2. It will serve as the successor to the much popular Motorola Droid Maxx and will offer superior experience and specifications to the people. Design & Display
The Motorola Droid Maxx 2follows the same design as the recent Motorola devices, and feels the same as the Droid turbo 2. There are a number of different replaceable covers available for the device, which can be used for the device. The unlocked cellphone’s dimensions will be 148 x 75 x 10.9 mm, with a weight of 169 grams.
The screen size of the device is 5.5 Inches, and has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, makingit a full-HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 403. A IPS LCD type of display is used in the phone’s screen. The screen is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen appears to be decent, with it displaying all the fine details without any problem. Text is readable and viewing angles are also good.
Software and Hardware
The Motorola Droid Maxx 2 will run the Android operating system, along with its own UI skinned on top of it, however, as Motorola is known to provide a near-stock experience, most of the OS functions will remain unchanged with only slight additions from the company. The device’s hardware paired up along with the latest Android OS will be able to deliver a lag-free experience.
The phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Operating system, with a planned upgrade to Android Marshmallow v6.0 and is powered with a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615, with the processor being Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53. The graphical processing unit is being powered by an Adreno 405 chipset.
The device comes with sufficient amount of storage for installing applications. The phone also supports external MicroSD card to further expand the memory of the device in order to store media such as audio, video etc. The unlocked cellphone is also packed with a high size of RAM, which can help people multi-task without experiencing any shutters or lag.

The Motorola Droid Maxx 2 is packed with a 21 Megapixel rear-facing camera, capable of clicking photographs of resolution 5248 x 3936 pixels. The camera is equipped with LED flash, and autofocus capabilities. It can also record videos of 1080p at 30 fps. A secondary front-facing 5 MP camera is also included in the device.
The unlocked cellphone supports a 3630 non-removable mAh battery, and the company claims that the device can last upto 48 hours with a single charge.
