Samsung Galaxy On5 Features & Review

The Samsung Galaxy On5is expected to release in the month of November in 2015, along with the Samsung Galaxy On7. Both of the devices feel pretty similar to each other, when compared specifications-wise. The Samsung Galaxy On5 features mediocre specifications and will debut as a mid-segment device.

Design & Display

Following the images released on the internet, the Samsung Galaxy On5 is likely to follow a design similar to the company’s note series. The unlocked cellphone’s dimensions will be 142.3 x 72.1 x 8.5 mm, with a weight of 149 grams. Leather back or leather back covers may also get featured for the device. The device will be coming two color variants, which will be black and white.


The screen size of the device is 5.0 Inches, and has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, makingit a HD screen, with a pixel per inch density of 288. A TFT type of display is used in the phone’s screen. It is likely that the display will be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. Moreover, the screen is expected to show fine details, making the sharp text readable, along with good viewing angles.

Software and Hardware

The Samsung Galaxy On5 will run the Android operating system, along with its own UI, TouchWiz, skinned on top of it. The UI is expected to be the latest one with optimizations for the device usage. The device’s hardware paired up along with the latest Android OS will be able to deliver a lag-free smooth experience.

The phone will run on Android Lollipop 5.1 Operating system, and will be powered with Exynos 3475 chipset, with the processor being Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7. The graphical processing unit is being powered by Exynos 3475.


The device comes with sufficient amount of storage for installing applications. The phone also supports external MicroSD card to further expand the memory of the device in order to store media such as audio, video etc. The unlocked cellphone is also packed with a high size of RAM, which can help people multi-task without experiencing any shutters or lag.

The camera is equipped with LED flash, and autofocus capabilities. It can also record videos of 1080p at 30 fps. A secondary front-facing 5 MP camera is also included in the device. The camera is also expected to capture fine amount of details in its pictures while in sufficient light conditions.


The unlocked cell phone supports a 2600 mAh battery. Due to the decent battery capacity, it can be safely assumed that the device will be able to last one day on a full charge.
